Bringing the Words Alive

I am excited that my novel Out of the Blue will soon take on a life of its own and be published.
Taking the decision to self publish was no easy one but for me it felt right. It has been a huge learning curve. No matter how much you read and digest about the process once you are in it you realise there is so much more to it. That I guess has been the challenge.
Now it’s moving on time. The next story is already being written and with learning so much along the way of writing Daisy’s story, I’m hopeful that Edward’s story will flow with a little less pain and angst.
Edward is a man of conflicted emotions and telling his story is interesting and taxing.
Allowing the creative flow to ooze onto the blank page is indeed a labour of love. Nurturing the characters to believability and to take on their own life force is no mean feat. Yet it is such a wonderful ability when it works. That said, it doesn’t happen straight away.
Stories abound all around us. People always have a back story and it is this I think I have learned when writing. There’s always time to edit and cut and refine but getting the story out first seems to work for me. I’m what they call a pantser! No plan just an idea and a basis for the outcome.
I think it reflects my attitude to life. Plans are great but they don’t always work out and the ability to adapt has been my greatest asset. Not for all, seizing the day but then if we were all the same where would be the rich diversity of life?
For me I’ve pursued a dream and slowly it is being brought to life.
It’s never too late.
Thanks for dropping by.
